Are you really short on time?

Are you really short on time?

How did you spend 2023?

I got my driver's license a month ago after seeing "Fast Furious". And although it's not a Porsche, I somtimes turn up the music loudly and drive it myself. And the there was somthing I realized.

First, a few old stories. When I was living alone in my 20s and my friends often came to visit my house, I wrote this on the wall : "If you wnat to chat for more than 3 minute, go home." To my friends, most of whom were sons of wealty families, I explained to them tha time was my only asset and asked for their understanding.

When I went to Mountain with my wife in the early days of our marriage, we were short on time, so we took a taxi to and from the mountainside(we don't do that now). For the past 20 years, I had no choice but to ride in the car for an average of 1 to 2hours a day, and because I felt that time was a waste, I always read something, which was about 7 different types of newspapers and 4 weekly magazines.

However, ad I drove, I realized that the time that  seemed boring when I was in the back seat passed quickly. I was able to understand why self-drivers do not take the 2-3 hour daily commute to work seriously, and I was also able to understand why they say they no time to study. On days when I drive, I also have so much to read that I don't have enough time.

Is it okay to think a lot of productive thoughts while driving? All I could think about was less than 5minutes worth of thoughts. No time? Live close to work. If you find it difficult to do so, save as much time as possible.

As I asked my freind to do, record and evaluate in detail how they spend their 24 hours in 30-minute increments for just one month. You might find yourself feeling pathetic. Dr. Gong is said to have placed a refrigerator in the bathroom to save time and ate while sitting on the toilet. I have a TV and stereo in my bathroom instead of a refrigerator.

The book "Hire your self"(Read), recommends considering a day as 22 hours and dedicating 2hours to self-development. I have been using it like that for an average of 5 hours. Is there really a need to live so pressed for time? I also know that living slowly, thinking leisurely as you go, is a way of life. But that too must be distinguished from laziness. Of course, there are times whien I also take a good rest. However, once in a while,  lazy people become dilligent.
